Christchurch Bread Pyramid
Wednesday 18 October
20 million loaves of bread are thrown away every year in New Zealand.
To raise awareness of this, Canterbury University engineering students will be building a pyramid using 2,300 loaves of bread live on Breakfast TV.
Watch this feat on Breakfast (channel one, 6-9am) or, if you can, come along to Canterbury University to see the pyramid building in action. You’ll get the chance to taste Jax Hamilton’s favourite bread recipes, learn how to make a ‘Meal in a Mug’ and take home a loaf of bread.
If you can’t make it in the morning, you can pick up a free loaf of bread from 3:30-4:30 pm at the New Brighton Community Fridge, 46 Hawke St, New Brighton
