Kiwi Harvest offer volunteer options for both individuals and corporate groups. Individuals can volunteer Tuesday to Friday from 9:30am–12:30pm, helping to package rescued food. Each day is different and offers a great insight into the variety and quality of food saved.
Corporate groups can book team volunteering sessions (up to 8 people) at the Highbrook Auckland warehouse during the same weekday morning shifts. These sessions are popular, so it’s best to book well in advance. Teams can also support as Driver Assists. To get involved or learn more, head to Kiwi Harvest.
If you have extra food or fruits and vege from your garden, connect with the community to share the love. You can list or find local produce using the NZ Fruit and Food Share Map, drop items at a nearby Pātaka Kai community pantry, or join a neighbourhood crop swap to trade your surplus for something new. If you have excess fruit that you would like picked and shared to those in need, contact Community Fruit Harvesting.
If you are a business or have a significant volume of food to donate contact national food rescue organisations like Kiwi Harvest, NZ Food Network, or Fair Food. These organisations can safely collect and redistribute surplus food to communities in need, helping you reduce waste and disposal costs while making a positive social impact. They accept a wide range of quality surplus food, from fresh produce and chilled items to packaged goods, and can often arrange regular collections or one-off pickups.
