Meat needs to be kept cold at all times – so either refrigerate it and cook it before its use-by date or freeze it.

If freezing meat, make sure to keep it well sealed so that it doesn’t get freezer burn.¬†Freezer burn typically appears as greyish-brown, dried patches on the surfaces of the food. It is not a food safety risk, and can be cut off before use.
