Ways to Rescue Food
Save delicious food from being wasted by purchasing surplus from local businesses at a reduced price:
You can use Too Good To Go to buy discounted meals from cafes, restaurants, and bakeries, try Foodprint to find quality surplus food in your area, or subscribe to Misfit Garden for seasonal boxes of “imperfect” fruit and veg that that supermarkets might otherwise reject.
Share your excess
Have a surplus of lemons or a pantry staple you won’t use? Connect with your community to share the love:
NZ Fruit and Food Share Map: Find or list local fruit trees and food sharing points on this interactive map.
Pātaka Kai: Locate a neighbourhood "pantry hub" or open-access street pantry near you.
Neighbourhood Crop Swaps: Join a local group to trade your garden’s excess for something new.
