Competition winner amazed by new Mitsubishi Electric fridge

When Love Food Hate Waste called Anne Garrett in early April to tell her she had won a Mitsubishi Electric fridge, she thought it was a scam.

It was only after she received a follow-up email that she truly believed that she was the winner of the new CX Designer Series Multi Drawer Refrigerator from Mitsubishi Electric.

“You enter these things, or you buy a lotto ticket, and then you forget about it,” said Anne, who lives in Napier.

“When it happens you feel so great. At first, I thought it was a scam – that it was too good to be true.”

Anne took the quiz which popped up on her Facebook page because of her interest in the questions about what foods can be frozen.

“I worked for Weight Watchers for 43 years as a leader and I have always been interested in food and what it does for me, as well as what as it does for my members. Anything that is about food, I read. I enjoyed doing the quiz because I knew all of the questions – that’s a bit smart, isn’t it!”

The fridge was delivered last week and Anne is already noticing the benefits of the Vitalight Humidity Drawer.

“You waste so many vegetables when you buy them because they don’t last that long.

“I’m just amazed at the freshness of the vegetables now. I bought some mushrooms about five days ago, and they’re still in the brown bag. Normally they would have shriveled and dried up in the ordinary fridge, but they look just like new.”
