What pie can you make with what’s in your fridge?

What pie can you make with what’s in your fridge?

The beauty of a pie is that you can put anything in it – including leftovers!

A layer of pastry, or a mashed vegetable lid, can transform uninspiring leftovers into a whole new meal.  Kiwi families throw away more than $100 million of leftovers every year when they could be making pies instead.

Even if you don’t think you have the makings of a pie in your fridge, you might be surprised by what you can pull together. Anything can be used as a pie filling, and if you have a pie maker or a muffin tin, then you only need a small amount of filling to make one. If you don’t have pastry on hand, you can use bread or mashed vegetables to form your pies.

Our pie generator will help you work out what pie you can make based on what is already in your fridge.
