Christmas Crackle Tree

Turn the last of your cereal into a Christmas Crackle Tree. These make a great centerpiece which you can eat and enjoy after the meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped (walnuts, almonds, pecans, peanuts etc)
  • 1 cup rice bubbles (or cornflakes or other cereal you need to use up)
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, chopped prunes, chopped dates etc)
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 70g chocolate (milk, dark or white, depending on your preference)

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients except chocolate in a mixing bowl.
  2. Melt the chocolate – either in a double boiler or in the microwave.
  3. Pour chocolate over the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly to coat.
  4. Spoon mixture into the cone making sure to press firmly after each spoonful. Work quickly as the chocolate will begin to set.
  5. Make sure the base is even so that the tree will stand up.
  6. Refrigerate for 20 – 30 mins until they are set.
  7. Remove the cardboard to serve.
