Feijoa and Apple Crumble

This feijoa and apple crumble is sure to put a smile on your face. Stew and freeze feijoas while they are in season so you can make this crumble all through winter.

Ingredients

  • 6 feijoas, flesh cut in chunks (240g flesh)
  • 3 apples, cored, cut in chunks
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup coconut threads
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-fat spread or butter

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Mix the fruit with the ginger and 1/2 cup water. Place in an ovenproof dish.
  3. To make topping put the flour, sugar, oats, coconut and spread into a bowl. Use your fingers to combine crumble ingredients. Sprinkle topping over fruit.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until fruit is bubbling and topping is golden.
